Introducing Ruby Smart's Art activities for kids booklet, the perfect companion to our children's picture book 'Ruby Smart's peculiar art' by Sophie Wood-Hart!
This activity book is written by Jenny Wood and filled with engaging and creative art projects that are inspired by the characters and storyline of the original book. Children can immerse themselves in Ruby's world of art and imagination as they complete various activities.
Jenny uses the Monart method to teach drawing coupled with her own unconventional games and activities to encourage creativity. The Monart method was developed in 1979 and is considered an academic program incorporating focus and concentration, sequence, planning and development of hand-eye coordination. Jenny has added games and activities to complement the Monart method and to help children develop creativity and spark their imagination.
Parents and teachers alike will enjoy participating in the activities but it’s best to encourage children to do the activities as independently as possible. This will help to build and support a healthy, positive sense of self-esteem in a non-competitive non-judgmental way!
'Children have learnt new vocabulary, concepts and been challenged and encouraged to think more deeply about their art and the way they visualise their world.’
